Believe it or not but servicing your MG can save you money in the long run, maximising the fuel consumption cost to reduce overall fuel costs. Sometimes the problem with your car can be invisible to the driver, this results in a possible risk of your car breaking down meaning you will have an unexpected cost to repair the vehicle.

Roadside Assistance

Not that anything should go wrong with your brand-new MG, but in the unlikely event that something does, we provide a one-year roadside assistance package from the AA with all new MGs.

This package will cover the vehicle for the whole of the UK (including Homestart, Roadside Assistance, Recovery and Onward Mobility cover). It’s a really comprehensive package to offer you reassurance and peace of mind. You can find details of your cover here, or you can download the full terms and conditions.

Following on from your initial year's roadside assistance, when you take your car back to your MG dealer for every subsequent scheduled service, if you choose the option, you will receive a further 12 months’ MG Assistance free.

Alternatively, if you do not take your car back to your MG dealer, following on from your initial year's roadside assistance, the AA will provide MG owners an exclusive 15% discount on all renewals.

At Howard’s we recommend checking your car yourself regularly before taking it into a service usually once your car hits 12,5000miles but if you have any problems prior to this mileage definitely take your car in for service earlier. You can check your car regularly by following these simple steps, check for:
1. Tyre pressure
2. Oil levels
3. Coolant levels
4. Break fluid level
5. Windscreen wiper water levels

MG Servicing at Howards MG

All new MG vehicles need to be serviced at regular intervals. Each service should occur every 15,000 miles (or 10,000 miles for 16MY MG3 with Stop/Start) or every year - whichever comes first. At Howards MG we offer:


Our technicians have undertaken extensive training in our academy. They will service your vehicle to the highest standards in full compliance with the terms of your vehicle’s warranty.


Howards MG will only use genuine MG Parts when replacing any parts. 


Howards MG will be able to supply you a Courtesy Car for your appointment. 

We will complete the below when required at your service*:

  • Replace engine oil and oil filter
  • Wipers and washers
  • Replace Coolant
  • Replace Spark Plugs
  • Road Test
  • Replace air filter and pollen filter
  • Check for fault codes


*Please note parts/procedures are only due/replaced at a certain age or mileage, and are not completed with every service.
