Moonlight Beach Walk for Weston Hospicecare

On 14th September 2024, hundreds of supporters took on the spectacular Moonlight Beach Walk and illuminated Weston’s seafront to remember loved ones, choosing from either the 10km or 5km route.

The event was a huge success, well done to everybody that took part and we can't wait to share with you more events taking place this year with Weston Hospicecare!

We also wanted to introduce a member of the Howards team who has taken part in many events for Weston Hospice over the years, Sarah our HR Manager. Weston Hospice asked Sarah some questions ahead of this years event:

Why did you sign up to take part in the Moonlight Beach Walk 2024?
I’ve completed the Moonlight Beach Walk on a number of occasions for the Company – it’s an amazing event, the atmosphere is incredible. There are many touching stories; everyone is there for a purpose and I love walking!

Why is it important for you to support Weston Hospicecare?

This charity provides the most amazing support to so many people; free care to those with life limiting illnesses and their families. They make amazing things happen to give people the time of their lives and they provide assistance to those who may need final palliative care in their day centre. Each package is individually tailored and may be something small or life changing. They help those with loss too. I am blown away when reading the tributes to this amazing charity.

What would you say to anyone who hasn't been to the Moonlight Beach Walk before?
Please come, you’ll have such a great evening with like minded people and, most importantly, you can raise money for a most amazing local charity – they need those funds to make a difference! Most of their funds are provided by events like this.

Why should other people get involved in the Moonlight Beach Walk?

Making a difference to a local charity and getting involved with the community is a really good feeling. It makes you realise how lucky you are by helping others.
