Royal National Lifeboat Institution

Devon Freewheelers

Keeping the Devon Freewheelers Dorchester-based Blood Delivery Car on the road is vital to our support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The car has to be available 24/7/365 in order to ensure the supply of blood products and equipment to the DSAA at their Henstridge Airfield base. In 2025 the car was used for deliveries a total of 244 times (12200 miles), of which 43 were urgent replenishments to resupply blood after use at the scene of various traumatic incidents. This urgent replenishment can be called for at any time, day or night.

Wing Hayden Main scored two tries of @wsmrfc six tries to take his tally in this Regional 2 Tribute Ale South West campaign to 29 and overtake the previous Club record of 28 set by Charlie Larkin in the 1988/89 season!

Shining Stars 2025 - South Molton United School

Howards Motor Group was delighted to donate wellies, muddy puddle suits, and a variety of books to South Molton United School.

Supporting local schools and giving children the opportunity to enjoy learning and play, especially during the festive period, is something we’re incredibly proud of 💙.

Sherborne Panthers U11s Football Club

Last year we proudly sponsored Sherborne Panthers U11s Football Club providing them with new jackets and equipment.

2024 has started off really well for the team - with a 3-1 win against Pen Mill Panthers, and an incredible 17-1 win against Martock Rovers away! The amazing Tom scored 5 goals and was awarded Player of the Match!

This year, Danny has once again laced up his running shoes, embarking on an ambitious mission to run four marathons in Tokyo, Paris, London, and Chicago.

Howards are pleased to continue our support to the Taunton Foodbank by maintaining the van, to enable them to continue the important work they do in our community.

During 2022/2023, Taunton Foodbank fed 7,833 people (including 3,182 children) and gave out 80.102 tonnes of donated food.

Donate For Defib WsM Project

Last week, Howards were delighted to welcome Donate For Defib WsM Project with Great Western Air Ambulance Charity and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance for training sessions on the use of Defibrillators and CPR.

This comes as part of our initiative to install six external Defibrillators and Bleed Kits at all Defib locations across the towns we represent.

London to Paris cycle for Cure Leukaemia

Congratulations to Richard who completed the London to Paris cycle for Cure Leukaemia earlier this month! 🚴‍♂️

The challenge was completed over 4 days with a total of 304 miles cycled! Richard has raised an amazing £1,530, with the whole ride raising over £440,00!

Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club’s 32nd Charity Pro-Am

Last week, the Howards Business team were delighted to take part in Taunton & Pickeridge Golf Club’s 32nd Charity Pro-Am, with approximately 250 people in attendance ⛳👏

The Pro-Am is a fantastic event and provides an excellent opportunity for the club captains to raise vital funds for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, a charity that plays a crucial role within our region.

YFW Bloodbikes

Howards Motor Group are delighted to be able to support the YFW Bloodbikes

Yeovil Freewheelers is a group of emergency volunteer bikers operating out of Yeovil, Wincanton, Taunton and Dorchester Hospitals. Founded in 1978, YFW is a registered charity and member of the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes that provides free-of-charge service to the NHS to ensure blood and other essential supplies are available at hospitals when needed.

We’re showing our support by helping raise awareness and we also have a team taking part in this year’s Weston Super Half to raise money for the invaluable work they do within our communities

Howards Motor Group would like to congratulate Weston United’s victory in the Webb Ellis Somerset Cup final against Chew Valley 2ndXV. Weston United completed the 2022/23 season with captain Ash Russell lifting the Webb Ellis Somerset Cup with a narrow victory over Chew Valley 2ndXV at North Petherton RFC.

The children and staff of Parkfield Primary in Taunton were delighted to welcome Meg and Steph (Team Integra) to their school.
Everyone was very excited to learn that Meg and Steph are members of the British Sailing Team, which is the world's most successful sailing team, and that sailing is one of the UK's most successful Olympic Sports.
Team Integra led a key stage 2 assembly and the children learnt about the team's journey and what they had achieved so far. The presentation gave the children a great insight into sailing and Team Integra.

Yeovil Hospital Charity

Howards recently had the pleasure of donating a Honda Lawn Mower as a raffle prize, to two local inspirational women who are raising funds to support the Yeovil Hospital Charity to support the new breast cancer unit within the hospital. The event will host a live band and a buffet on the 10th June 2023 at the Quicksilver Mail, Yeovil.

Howards recently donated to Exmoor Search & Rescue Team for Andy, a Consultant Technician with Howards.

The Exmoor Search and Rescue Team provides specialist Mountain Rescue services across large parts of Devon and Somerset. Thank you for everything you do! 👏🚒

100-mile Camino de Santiago walk

Lynne took on an incredible 100-mile Camino de Santiago walk across Spain to raise awareness and vital funds for SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity 🇪🇸🥾

Her efforts not only supported a fantastic cause but also helped shine a light on the important work SSAFA does for serving personnel, veterans, and their families.

Weymouth Ironman

Huge congratulations to Howards Danny and Richard and Future Signs Pete who completed the Weymouth Ironman 70.3 together earlier in September 💪

Unfortunately the swim was cancelled due to weather, but Richard was able to finish the 56.5 mile cycle in 3h 19, and Danny the 13.1 mile run in 1h 54 👏

Well done team! 💙🥇🏆

Macmillan Cancer Support

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our Macmillan Coffee & Cake Day 💚☕🍰

Our showroom was filled with some amazing homemade bakes, plenty of coffee, and lots of generosity, all in support of the incredible work Macmillan Cancer Support does every day.

We’re so proud of our team and customers for coming together to help raise funds and awareness for such an important cause.

Yeovil Hospital Charity

Ahead of Saturdays Paint the Park Pink football match at Yeovil Town FC, Howards wanted to show their support as an official Pink Partner by donating £5,000 to this incredible final push to raise the Vital funds for Yeovil Hospital Charity to build a new Breast Cancer Unit. 🩷

Howards also want to acknowledge the incredible community efforts made by everyone that has raised money over the last few years, bringing the total to the amount it is today. We had our very own Tim, Marian, Aislin & Lexi-Mae to hand over the donation to Karina representing the hospital and club owner Martin.

Sherborne Town Youth FC U11s

Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival

Parkfield Primary School

We recently had the pleasure of visiting Parkfield Primary School in Taunton. Chris our Managing Director had a look at the new Sensory room that will offer children a safe space, part funded by Howards Motor Group.

Chris was really pleased to meet with some of the children and see how they valued their new space.

Weston-super-Mare Salvation Army

This week we visited Weston-super-Mare Salvation Army to proudly deliver our food donations for their Christmas Day food parcels 🎄🎁

These parcels will help support local individuals and families during the festive period, ensuring no one goes without on Christmas Day.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated and supported this initiative, and to the Salvation Army for the amazing work they do year-round within our community.

It’s a privilege for Howards to be able to play a small part in spreading a little extra kindness at this special time of year ❤️

Yeovil Salvation Army

Yesterday we visited the Yeovil Salvation Army with a donation of toys to help make sure no child goes without a present this Christmas 🎄🎁

These donations will help bring joy, smiles, and a little festive magic to local children and families who may be facing a difficult time.

Taunton Foodbank

Our next exciting Shining Star donation was for Taunton Foodbank, helping to make sure that no one in our local community has to go hungry ⭐💙

This donation will support individuals and families who may be facing difficult times, providing essential food supplies and a little peace of mind when it’s needed most.

We’re incredibly proud to support the vital work Taunton Foodbank does day in, day out, and grateful to everyone who helps make these donations possible.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

Today we were delighted to be visited by Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and were lucky enough to meet some of their fantastic team members 🚁

Chris was on hand to proudly present the team with our donation to this brilliant organisation, which plays such a vital role within our community, providing lifesaving care when it’s needed most.

Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue

Last week we visited our final Shining Star, Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue, to drop off our donations of animal food and bedding — and to meet some of their amazing team 🌟💙

Since opening, this incredible charity has rehomed over 38,000 animals, giving them a second chance at a happy, loving home. Their dedication, compassion, and tireless work make a real difference every single day.

We’re incredibly proud to support the vital work they do and to play a small part in helping them continue caring for animals in need.
