· Set for European premiere at Paris Motor Show on Thursday 2nd Oct.
· Delivering a premium look & feel that bends style and practicality
· More space and numerous innovation features compared to predecessor
· “Sophisticated and Luxurious” theme encapsulates a fresh interior
Ready for its European launch this October, the 3rd Generation Kia Sorento is set to alter drivers’ perceptions of what Kia SUVs can consistently deliver. Subtle style changes alter its character, drawing attention to the sleek profile that is smooth, swept-back and sophisticated. A lower roofline and higher beltline provide a more muscular posture, building anticipation for its announcement this week.

Kia has harnessed new manufacturing techniques when crafting the Sorento, using laser technology that renders weld lines invisible, producing a smoother exterior. Longer and wider than ever before the interior gains from additional space, with the seating repositioned to increase both head and leg room. Boot space is extendable to an impressive 605 litres, with an underfloor tonneau cover storage compartment providing extra space if required. The cabin styling works on a “modern and wide” theme, using a wider instrument cluster that makes the most of the new found space and creates a relaxing ambience. Debut technologies ready to discover in this next Generation Sorento include a variety of gadgets, such as the Around View Monitor that improves visibility for vehicle manoeuvrability and the Smart Power Tailgate, automatically opening when the key is sensed near the trunk. Comfort is central to the Sorento with handling being a main area of improvement not only on its predecessor but class wide, perhaps encapsulated by the electric motor-driven power steering system mounted directly on the steering wheel rack. This provides a greater steering feel and improves responsive driving, guaranteeing the Sorento remains agile and sporty within its segment.
Under the bonnet five engines are available ranging from 2.0 to 2.4 GDI. The final decisions on the specific UK line up are yet to be made.
