Howards Defibrillator Training and Installation Initiative

Howards are delighted to work with Donate for Defib WSM for the training and installation of six external Defibs registered on the circuit for the general public's use, as well as Howards employees.

Josh's life was saved over 23 years ago at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, now the Cardiologist who saved Josh's life is raising awareness of defibrillators with Josh and our team at Howards Motor Group.

Donate For Defib Weston-super-Mare Project is a project dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of defibrillators and raising funds to put further defibrillators out within the local community. They offer to put defibrillators in businesses and other locations to help save lives in cases of sudden cardiac arrest.

Professor Graham Stuart is working at the forefront with the Donate for Defib WSM Project team as the Project Clinical Lead Ambassador, enabling clinical guidance, innovation, and research to enhance the work going forward. Recently, both Josh and Graham visited us at Howards to discuss the importance of defibrillators and how they can be accessed. This visit is part of our broader initiative to install six external defibrillators and bleed kits at all defib locations across the towns we represent.

During their visit, they provided detailed demonstrations on how to properly perform CPR and explained the correct procedures that can save lives in emergencies. We also explored the effectiveness of bleed kits, highlighting their crucial role in situations where immediate medical intervention is necessary. These practical sessions underscored the critical need for widespread availability of both defibrillators and bleed kits, ensuring that our communities are better prepared to handle medical emergencies.

Their expertise and insights have been invaluable in advancing our project. With their support, we aim to not only equip ourselves with the necessary medical tools but also to educate the public on their use. By doing so, we hope to significantly improve the chances of survival in the event of sudden accidents, ultimately fostering a safer and more responsive community.
