One of our employee’s Thomas Lewis from Honda Taunton is running 27 half marathons in aid of CLIC Sargent, a charity that provides cancer support for the young. His challenge is to run 27 half marathons in 27 days, with his first day starting on the 3rd of October. Once completed, he will have run an impressive combined total of 354 miles.
Thomas’s aim is to raise as much money as possible for CLIC Sargent. This charity is very close to home for him and his family, as they helped them when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 6. Now he wants to repay the favour and embark on this difficult challenge and raise lots of money for the charity.
He came up with this fundraising idea, taking inspiration from the comedian Eddie Izzard who ran 27 full marathons in 27 days earlier this year. The comedian impressed the nation and managed to raise more than £1m for Sport Relief.
We wish Thomas the best of luck as he starts his challenge on the 3rd of October. Any donations are welcome, and JustGiving sends your donations straight to the CLIC Sargent and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you’re a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.
Thomas has said “This will be a huge challenge for me and all your support and any donation you wish to make are greatly appreciated”.
So far he has raised £316.00 with a goal set of £1000, so if you’d like to help him reach his goal you can do so by visiting his JustGiving page.
