Weston super Mare Dealership support The Grand Pier Event

As a local dealership group, we have made a conscious decision to support local charities and give back to a community that continues to support us. This is why we have chosen to support the Axentis Michael Memorial Ball – a fundraising event which will be held in the Grand Hall of The Grand Pier on 26th November 2016.

This weekend marks the 7th Axentis Michael Memorial Ball, which is held every 2 years in memory of local hotelier Axentis Michael, who sadly died in 2003. Following his death, his family set up the charity ball in 2004 to raise money and contribute to amazing causes throughout Weston and North Somerset. To date, the ball has raised and distributed money across many charities and people in need, with more than £1 million given to our local community.

Every event has a theme, and this year the Great Hall will be turned into a Winter Wonderland. We are expecting over 700 guests to attend the ball and take part in this glamorous and festive event. There will be amazing entertainment, as well as an auction to raise money for the charity. Howards have decided the best way for us to help is by donating a car. Through this small contribution, Howards hopes to help to raise the much-needed funds required by the Axentis Michael charity, so they can continue to support our community.

Kerry Michael, Axentis’s son and now the owner of the Grand Pier, said:

Over the last eight years, we have raised and distributed over a million pounds.  In the last two years, we have been able to support a wide variety of local good causes, including buying a minibus for Weston and District Community Transport to funding major surgery in Florida for a local teenager, Michael McKenzie

Tickets are always in great demand and it is always a very popular event with people travelling from all over the UK and abroad to attend.

Preparations are well underway for this year’s event and we have had some fantastic support. I cannot believe the generosity of all our friends and suppliers particularly in the current economic climate.”

The Grand Pier also reached out to us on social media to say:

A big thank you to Howards Motor Group for donating a car to support the Axentis Michael Memorial Ball's fundraising efforts this Saturday! “
