    Nissan Ariya Pole to Pole

Set amongst Arctic-like conditions, the Pole-to-Pole expedition team and Nissan unveiled an adventure-ready version of the new ARIYA electric SUV, which will undertake a 17,000-mile trip from the magnetic North Pole to the South Pole.

Nissan Ariya Unveiled for an Exciting Pole-to-Pole Expedition

The new Nissan Ariya electric SUV will undertake a 17,000 mile trip from the North Pole to the South Pole this March, with husband and wife team, Chris and Julie Ramsey. The couple's planning and preparation over the fast four years has been such a big part of their lives that Julie says she is looking forward to getting the expedition underway.

To highlight the capability of electric vehicles and highlight their positive action against the climate crisis, only minimal modifications have taken place to the vehicle, with no changes made to the battery and powertrain. Necessary alterations such as adapted suspension and 39-inch tires will enable the expedition car to tackle extreme terrains with the combination of e-4ORCE.

Nissan Executive Vice President:

“We’re proud to announce our partnership with Chris Ramsey and the Pole to Pole expedition team. The all-new, all-electric Ariya crossover SUV enables you to go further, easier and in comfort. And with e-4ORCE control technology providing enhanced stability and traction on a variety of surfaces, we know it will be the perfect partner for Chris and his team on their challenging all-electric journey.”

“We’ve modified the suspension and widened the wheel arches so we can benefit from the stable platform and support of the 39-inch BF Goodrich tyres. I’m incredibly excited to get behind the wheel of what was already a brilliant vehicle, but now feels equipped to take on the ends of the earth in style!”

"We're going to discover so many interesting initiatives from communities and individuals who are taking positive action against climate change, and I'm looking forward to sharing these experiences and stories with everyone. We are doing something that has never been attempted before, a world-first, and ultimately that is what makes it so exciting."

Concept to Reality
With predicted temperatures of -30⁰C to 30⁰C, the expedition will be an extreme challenge, and the first time anyone has driven from pole to pole in a vehicle.

This adventure supports Nissan Ambition 2030, which is the company's long-term vision to "empower motility and beyond with electricifcation as a central focus."

Above is an image of the concept car for this expedition, which required in-depth planning to judge which modifications should be made to enhance the performance of the vehicle in the expected conditions, without adapting the powertrain.

Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
