Howards Motor Group Carnival Season 2023

Howards Motor Group sponsors successful Carnival Season for three Somerset towns, Bridgwater, Weston-Super-Mare and North Petherton.

As the Carnival Season for 2023 comes to a close, we wanted to reflect and thank everybody that has been a part of bringing this season together, working as a community to make each Carnival a success.

Howards were an official partner for all three Carnivals, as well as Bridgwater Carnival Concerts. Our dedicated team took part in each Carnival, driving one of our Howards At Home Vans, pulling a collection trailer made by Howards for donations.

Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival took place on 4th November, with more than 100,000 people lining the streets. Dubbed ‘the UK’s oldest carnival and one of the largest illuminated carnival processions in Europe’. The Ramblers Carnival Club from Bridgwater were crowned winners, with their entry on the theme of "Trawlermen" pictured left.

Bridgwater Carnival recently announced via social media that the total of their official charity collection this year is £27,188.03! This includes the cash donations, text to donate, and live stream/online donations. You can still donate online via their website front page.
Weston-Super-Mare Carnival was the next to take place on Friday 10th November. The Ramblers Carnival Club were the overall winners again with their cart, Trawlermen.

A spokesperson from Weston Carnival said: "Well done to our overall winners last night Ramblers Carnival Club and their cart Trawlermen. Our thanks to all who volunteered on the night. There would be no carnival without you, we appreciate you all for giving your time."

The carnivals are the result of 12 months hard work, fund-raising and determination by many carnival clubs. All profits from the carnival go to help and support local charitable organisations.

North Petherton was the final Carnival sponsored by Howards this year, taking place on 11th November. Huckyduck Carnival Club took home first place in the Tableau Cart Open class with their festive 'December the 25th' entry, and Ramblers Carnival Clubs 'Trawlermen' cart continued to impress, taking the gold in the Feature Cart Open Class.

Chris Lee, Managing Director, Howards Motor Group, said:

“We have been excited to be involved with the events in 2023, supporting an activity that is embedded within our local communities that we operate is extremely important to us.

Although through our business we ensure that we have a product or service to suit everyone’s needs, our focus on supporting and working with our communities has and will always stretch far beyond this.

As a team we were ecstatic to be involved in these fantastic events”

  • Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
