    100 mile walk for SSAFA Charity

    In September, General Sales Manager Lynne from Howards took on a 100 mile walk through Camino de Santiago, across Spain to raise awareness and fundraise for SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.


Howards are supporting general Manager Lynne, who has taken on the challenge to walk 100 miles across the Camino de Santiago route of Northern Spain, to raise awareness and fundraise for SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity.

Setting off on Sunday 10th from St. Jean Pied De Port, the long 100 mile trek begun.

The SSAFA are the UKs oldest national tri-service military charity. Their vision is to create a society in which the Armed Forces, veterans and their families can thrive. The Charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. 

Support is available for people at any stage in their military career; from the youngest recruit to the oldest veteran – no one’s service is ever forgotten. They have more than 4,000 trained SSAFA volunteers who provide personalised, face-to-face support to those in their local area.

Today 15th September, after 5 days of walking, they made it! Leaving at dawn they arrived at Santiago de Compostela before noon. Huge congratulations to Lynne and all the team that took part, a brilliant and important cause to raise awareness of.
