Ignis Suzuki Exterior Features

The Ignis Suzuki mixes crossover looks with City car dimensions producing a stylish, sleek looking 4x4 car. Breaking the mould of the City car class the Ignis offers a one of a kind design. You’d think this car is here to push out the competition, but this car is here to be more than a small city car, the Ignis Suzuki is here to be a small SUV.

Its jacked-up stance, flared wheel arches and full-bodied bonnet with rolled edges give it that SUV styling. The Ignis offers a distinctive grille face that integrates into the LED headlights and daytime driving lights. These striking lines flow over the robust bonnet and wide arches providing a robust off-roading look. The Japanese designers have taken styling cues from the 1970s Suzuki Wizkid. Many people won’t know what this car looks like, here is a reminder. You will see these cues as the 3 indented slits in the rear quarter panels as well as the slopped front grille.

You can choose from a colour palette of pure white pearl metallic with a super gloss black pearl roof. Ignis Interior Features

The Ignis offers a large roomy cabin area for drivers and passengers, plus luggage. Step inside and you’ll be presented with a futuristic look and feel. The round shape air conditioning panels, combined with the instrument cluster design, provide this feel.

The tall looking body offers a practical element once you step inside. Once sat inside the Ignis you’ll notice you’ll have a lot of headroom. This, combined with a vast amount of rear legroom, makes travelling very comfortable. The rear seats are independent, with a pull of a leaver you can slide the seat forward by 165mm and recline the back seat, just another thoughtful and deliberate touch by Suzuki, to add to the passenger comforts within this city car.

Suzuki Ignis Boot Capacity

The Ignis boot space isn’t too far off a VW Polo’s boot capacity. When comparing these 2 car sizes that’s quite a surprise.

Ignis Engine & Transmission


Engine:
  • 1.2-litre petrol engine (optional Mild Hybrid) 

One engine option is available in the Suzuki Ignis. This option is an 89bhp naturally aspirated 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine. The SHVS Mild Hybrid system improves fuel efficiency by utilising a small electric motor. This hybrid system assists on warm starts and gives you more power when you put your foot down. With the Hybrid system, you can expect better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions 97g/km.

You’ll find a smooth gear change with the standard 5-speed manual gearbox when combined with the 1.2-litre engine. You can enjoy effortless gear changing with the Auto Gear Shift transmission. Suzuki’s upgraded auto transmission offers an economical gear change without losses in fuel efficiency or increase in CO2 emissions.

Suzuki Ignis ALLGRIP

You’ll find Suzukis ALLGRIP auto 4-wheel drive system incorporated into the Igins city car. You’ll have first seen this technology on the Swift. The ALLGRIP technology works by using a fully automatic, permanent 4-wheel drive configuration. This transfers additional torque to the rear wheels when required. You see why this vehicle also gets the called a crossover. This 4-wheel drive system makes this vehicle the choice for rural driving, it can handle going off-road. The ALLGRIP system includes Hill Decent Control and Grip Control, used for slippy surfaces and activates at speeds less than 18mph.
