In this class, it’s rare to find a practical van that is filled with useful technology and safety features, but the Citroen Relay delivers just this. You can always stay connected with the models Connecting Box which offers hands free bluetooth with your smartphone and a USB port available from the most basic audio option.
Reversing in such a large vehicle can be difficult, especially if you're trying to manoeuvre into a tight spot on a busy urban street. With the reversing camera, you can get a clear view of what's behind you, thanks to the 5” colour touchscreen which projects the camera’s image. The Relay is the first model in it’s class to have this brilliant feature, which displays 3 types of information. These include:
- Red: do not approach obstacle in reverse.
- Orange: an obstacle might be blocking the opening of the rear doors. It allows you to precisely calculate how much space is necessary to open the doors.
- Green: indicates space available to reverse into safely.
As well as the reversing camera, there is Hill Start Assist, Cruise Control with speed limiter, a Tyre Deflation warning system, Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Load Adaptive Control feature that improves the effectiveness of ESP and Intelligent Traction Control system supplemented by the Hill Descent Control (HDC).
With the Relay range, there are 4 HDi or e-HDi engines, which provide you with fuel-efficient and low CO2 emissions power. Choose from 110, 130 and 150 engines, which are all paired with a 6-speed all-synchromesh manual gearbox. The 130 engine also comes in the e-HDi format, with Stop & Start on certain versions.
These well engineered 2.2L engines bring outstanding fuel economy. The ne Relay 30 on the combined cycle powered the HDi 110 engine delivers a fuel economy of 41.5mpg, which rises to 42.8mpg with the same model complete with the Stop & Start-equipped e-HDi 130 engine.
