Vauxhall teams up with Team GB ahead of Milano Cortina 2026
The partnership brings together two familiar British names at a pivotal moment for both sport and the automotive industry. With the Winter Olympics now just weeks away, Vauxhall’s backing will play a role in supporting Team GB athletes as they complete their final preparations for competition in Italy this February.
Under the agreement, Vauxhall will provide mobility support and wider brand backing across the next two Olympic cycles. The collaboration also reflects shared priorities around sustainability, accessibility and long‑term ambition - values that sit at the heart of both organisations.
Eurig Druce, Managing Director of Vauxhall and Stellantis UK Group Managing Director, said the partnership was a strong match. He highlighted Vauxhall’s deep roots in Britain and its focus on supporting real communities across the country, adding that the brand was proud to stand behind the next generation of British sporting talent as Team GB looks ahead to 2026 and beyond.
Team GB Chair Dame Katherine Grainger welcomed Vauxhall into the Olympic family, describing the manufacturer as a trusted and well‑established part of everyday British life. She said the brand’s commitment to a more sustainable future closely aligns with Team GB’s own ambitions, and noted that Vauxhall’s support would make a meaningful contribution as athletes prepare for Milano Cortina and LA28.
Sustainability is a central theme of the partnership. Vauxhall now offers a fully electric version of every car and van in its UK line‑up, with all electric cars priced under £40,000 as part of a wider push to make EV ownership more accessible. That commitment is reinforced through initiatives such as Electric Streets of Britain, which works with local authorities and charging providers to improve access to on‑street charging for households without driveways.
The collaboration also shines a spotlight on Vauxhall’s manufacturing heritage. The company has been building vehicles in Britain for more than a century, and its Ellesmere Port site now operates as the UK’s first volume manufacturing plant dedicated solely to electric vehicles.
For Team GB, the timing of the announcement is significant. Athletes will soon be competing across a range of winter sports at Milano Cortina 2026, including curling, bobsleigh, freestyle skiing and figure skating. With the Games fast approaching, the new partnership ensures Vauxhall will be alongside the team as excitement builds on the road to Italy, and all the way through to Los Angeles in 2028.
