12,000 miles just to get to school, that’s what Ed Durgan and his father Graham are hoping to accomplish in their Toyota Land Cruiser. Travelling from Littlewick Green in Berkshire to McGill University, Montreal in Canada where Ed will begin studying political sciences.
Ed, Graham and the Land Cruiser will travel over 12,000 miles across 3 continents in order to get to Canada. They will begin by heading across northern Europe and Scandinavia, then onwards into Russia crossing Mongolia and china before they reach the coast to catch a ferry to America where they will complete the final part of the journey.
Edward said, “Neither Dad or I know how to fix a car, so if we break down in the Gobi desert then I guess we’ll just sit down, have a cup of tea and hope a nice Mongolian can help us out.
“I decided to go with Dad because if I went with a friend then there’d be a high chance we’d fall out and possibly never speak to each other again – that can’t really happen with Dad.”
With this in mind the vehicle of choice had to be the Toyota Land Cruiser, which is widely considered one of the world’s best off road vehicles and is renowned for its reliability.
