Paris Motor Show: Toyota Round Up

We complete the round up of the leading concept models introduced by Toyota over the past two weeks at the Paris Motor Show 2014.

Toyota CH-R Concept

·  Toyota’s muscular & athletic new green Crossover

·  Benefiting from Toyota’s new hybrid Powertrain technology

·  Expected to arrive in 2017

The British market for SUV crossovers continues to grow and in response Toyota have debuted the concept C-HR at the Paris Motor Show.

Combining both retrospective design features and revolutionary technologies, the CH-R uses the packaging of the RAV4 blended with the hybrid technology of the Prius. Toyota hope the new model stands out from what they perceive to be a relatively “homogenous” market of current crossover designs. Does it stack up to their aim of creating a crossover built with stronger emotional qualities that make customers fall back in love with driving?

Considering the shape the CH-R looks very similar to the Peugeot Quartz, sleek and low set with powerful alloy wheels. It has a broad and planted stance, with slim line LED headlamps making the CH-R appear like it’s poised ready to attack the road ahead. This lowers the centre of gravity whilst retaining a structural rigidity that improves driving dynamics. The windscreen and drivers windows sweep back to create an uninterrupted extension and improve both the driver and passenger view.

Details regarding the engine size are scarce, although it is assumed power output will balance the green approach and deliver the expected performance from a crossover.

Fuel Cell Sedan

·  Hydrogen powered

·  Only emission is water vapour

·  Result of 20 years research

Carrying four people in comfort, the Fuel Cell Sedan has the driving range of a comparable petrol powered engine whilst emitting only water vapour! A follow on from the FCV Concept launched last year, the exterior remains pretty much the same, with a few detail adjustments including the grille, headlamps and radiator.

Designed as a practical model for everyday use, the Sedan is a front wheel drive four door and offers comfortable seating for 4 passengers. It takes 3 minutes to refuel, with the fuel cell tank and battery located under the floor to maximise cabin space.

Hydrogen is a fantastic fuel alternative and appears to be the future of automotive power. Produced from a wide variety of primary energy sources, including solar and wind power, it is easy to transport. With new technologies improving the convenience of hydrogen use in everyday motoring, a new era of motoring is dawning.

The smaller i-Road harnesses the same technology whilst offering a true urban design for getting around the city quickly. Designed for single passenger use, it is the first road legal, single mobility, 0% emission vehicle.

Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
