Howards achieves GOLD in the Toyota Best Employer in Town Accreditation

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded Gold in Toyota’s Best Employer in Town (BEiT) Accreditation.

The BEiT Accreditation is a People Standard and Framework that shows a business is supporting, improving and leading its people. It shows we are actively developing our workplace culture and people processes for our employees.

As the world of work evolves and the pace of change accelerates, organisational culture, support for our staff development and staff engagement become even more important in attracting and retaining the best people. Finding and retaining quality people is a strategic priority for us to be the Best Retailer in Town.

We were proud to recently welcome members of Toyota UK to our retailer to present this award to our team.

Howards Toyota Award

What did we have to do to be awarded Gold?

Toyota assessed us against their Standard at three levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. This is a specific framework that looks at how we are looking after our people. Achieving Gold accreditation shows that we are operating as a progressive, ‘Best in Class’ employer, demonstrating innovative approaches to recruitment, development, employee engagement and transforming our retailer through continuous improvement.

Our feedback was exceptional, and the results gave us a Gold Accreditation which is the highest accolade.

“Howards Toyota clearly demonstrates achievement at the Gold level of the BEiT standard. There is an ethos of nurturing and growing talent from within.”

 The accreditation also identified that…

“Howards has a robust recruitment process in place and an in depth induction and development programme for all new starters, all designed to deliver a best in class customer experience”.

What’s next?

We are so delighted to have been awarded Gold. We know where we’ve come from in terms of our people journey, how we’ve developed, but it is great to recognise this achievement, highlight the good practice at Howards and celebrate it! We believe this effort will help us to continue in attracting great people and retaining them. All the efforts have been worthwhile. Whilst candidates consider career moves and at a time when employee experience, leadership and performance is more important than ever, it’s great to have this Accreditation to help us differentiate ourselves from competitors.

  • Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
