Launched at the end of 2013 and scooping the prestigious 2014 European Car of The Year, the Peugeot 308 remains Peugeot’s best ever take on the family hatchback. We take a look at what this model offers you.

Matching sleek looks with a luxury interior, the 308 has it all and leads its class when considering fuel economy. A special lightweight chassis saves up to 140kg of weight on previous models and a broad array of engine sizes mean you can pick and choose one that suits your life demands. There’s plenty to choose from, including the 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre Blue HDi diesels and the very frugal 1.2 litre e-THP petrol (part of three 3-cyclinder petrol options). These come with the choice of a 5 or 6-speed manual / automatic gearbox for smooth transmission. From the 1.2 e-THP 130 Allure you can get around 58.9 mpg on average, which for a family hatchback offering the space of the 308 is very competitive.

Within its class Peugeot claim the boot space to be the most sizeable, starting at 470 litres when the rear seats are in place and expandable by 35 litres when using two additional under floor storage bins. This is nearly 100 litres more than the Volkswagen Golf and when you consider the practical capabilities in relation to luggage and shopping storage, it really makes a difference to the motoring experience.

Peugeot have designed a hatchback that is sleek and elegant, designed to make the senses come alive through both a streamlined bodywork and the powerful i-Cockpit dashboard. Combining a silver trim with matt black dash, Peugeot have successfully blended high level technology with a pure, minimal design. A lower centre of gravity and sporty driving position makes for a responsive driving experience, with all controls in easy reach and placed above the steering wheel so your eyes never have to leave the road. In the Active model and above, a large colour touch screen acts as the central hub for the in-drive technology, including the SATNAV and air conditioning controls.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked directly to the particular franchise you are purchasing your vehicle from, who are usually able to offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions. If they are unable to make you an offer of finance, we then seek to introduce you to whichever of the other lenders on our panel is able to make the next best offer of finance for you. Our aim is to secure the best deal you are eligible for from our panel of lenders. Lenders may pay a fixed commission to us for introducing you to them, calculated by reference to the vehicle model or amount you borrow. Different lenders may pay different commissions for such introductions, and manufacturer lenders linked directly to the franchises that we represent may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
