Paris Motor Show 2014: Kia Round Up

In addition to the 3rd Generation Sorento covered here, we have summarised the other models rolled out at the Paris Motor Show 2014.

Kia Optima T-Hybrid

Hoping to make waves with this hybrid saloon, the diesel-electric Optima T-Hybrid concept debuts the new powertrain ready for mass production. Combining the current 1.7 litre CRDi turbo diesel engine with a compact electric motor powered by an efficient lead-carbon battery, the powertrain allows the Optima to run solely on electric power at low urban speeds or when cruising on the motorway.

Expected to deliver an additional 20% power as well as a sizeable drop in emissions, Kia have kept quiet on the MPG so far although with the engine still under development, however it’s expected to be extremely competitive. Style wise it follows the successful aesthetics of the current Optima, although from the video clip below it’s clear there’s a few tweaks!

Kia Rio

Looking to build on the already successful supermini, Kia introduced the new Rio design at the Paris Motor Show ready for sale in Europe as soon as early 2015.

Engine wise the same options currently available will be carried over, although as standard with industry developments the efficiency will be improved for all round greener driving. Start/Stop is optional for maximised fuel economy, as well as low rolling resistance tyres and a new starter motor for refined ignition. A new chrome trim adds a bit of style to the interior dashboard, with the updated audio-visual navigation system keeping you on the right track.

The exterior is where Kia have really gone to town, offering a full facelift including a re-styled grille, new alloy wheel designs and a rear bumper make over (all available in two completely new paint finishes; Urban Blue and Digital Yellow).

Kia Venga

Following on from the fresh facelift offered with the 2015 Rio, the Venga gets the same treatment with a new look interior that’s updated with plenty of extra gadgets. Ready for retail in Europe early next year, experts predict another success for the Korean manufacturers.

Inside the interior is bright with fresh seat patterns contrasting perfectly with a metallic trim. This model has seen a major upgrade in technology, with a 7” audio-visual satnav, heated steering wheel and rear view camera all adding that bit of ease to the driving experience. Multiple changes have also been made to the exterior, including a larger grille, lower bumper and an eye-catching chrome trim that works well with the alloy wheels.Under the bonnet efficiency gains have been made to meet Euro V emission standards. Dropping CO2 emissions from 119g/km to 114, the 1.4 litre diesel engine benefits from new Stop-Start technology that means greener driving.

Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
