Blending funky and sporty into one model, the Veloster Turbo packs a mighty punch that keeps you in the fast lane.

Under the bonnet, a 1.6 litre GDi turbo engine delivers over 200 bhp resulting in an impressive power-to-weight ratio that doesn’t leave you wanting more. The Veloster uses a twin-scroll turbo to dramatically reduce lag and maintain responsive acceleration, hitting 0-60 in just under 9 seconds. To improve handling around corners, Hyundai have fitted firmer dampers which do provide a firm ride but keep the car planted for optimal hide speed handing. Safety wise, the brakes have been bulked up to keep the driver fully in control, reducing stopping distances and matching the engine performance. The dual exhaust screams sports car whilst the price tag offers serious value for money. However, at 24mpg for urban driving, and 34mpg on the motorway, fuel economy is something that could be improved, although for it’s competitive for it’s class and seems to be a central priority to Hyundai’s plans for 2015.
Interior wise the bucket style seats are supportive and provide a comfortable ride, counter acting the firm suspension in place for optimised performance. Boasting some of the best interior space within its class, the Veloster is deceptively roomy. The boot can comfortably fit three suitcases, combining practicality with a powerful presence that remains aerodynamic. The rear seats can be handily split 60:40 for even more space and the 5 door accessibility, unique to the class, means you end up with a coupe combined with a hatchback and ultimately the best of both worlds. Technology wise a 7inch touchscreen sits in comfortable reach of the steering wheel, powering both the SATNAV, cabin entertainment and an integrated camera for assisted reversing.
The shape and overall appearance is streamline and sporty, with a redesigned front grille, prominent fog lights, 18inch alloys and the rear wing all adding to both design and functionality for the Veloster Turbo.
Powerful in stance, conservative on fuel, the Veloster Turbo champions modern performance that epitomises the evolution of greener turbo power.
