New Hyundai i40 Tourer Offers Comfort, Quality & Practicality

The new 2015 Hyundai i40 Tourer 1.7 CRDi has been designed and developed with three major goals in mind; comfort, quality and practicality.

The new 2015 Hyundai i40 Tourer 1.7 CRDi has been designed and developed with three major goals in mind; comfort, quality and practicality.

On the outside

Hyundai have refreshed the bodywork with the uniquely shaped front-end; short swooping bonnet angled towards the hexagonal grille. The new headlights and LED fog lights catch your eye as they blend into the restyled bumper.

Around the side, two lines curving from the front wheel arch towards the rear adds plenty of character to the door panels. The rear of the car is smart and tidy with a new pair of taillights that extend round to the side and a matching hexagonal shape around the rear licence plate.

Under the bonnet

The engine package has received an upgrade in the form of a 1.7-litre diesel engine, the top-range version will give you an output of 139bhp and the standard will do 115bhp. You can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox and an optional newly developed seven-speed dual clutch with steering paddle shifting.

A Hyundai i40 Tourer can be the perfect low tax company car as the efficiency upgrade, with a standard engine start-stop system, means that the car will only produce 114g/km of CO2 emissions.

On the Inside

On the dashboard you will see the new 7.0in touchscreen infotainment system surrounded by high quality, soft plastic functional buttons. The cabin overall has a more premium feel compared to competing models of this class.

If you are tech savvy, the Hyundai i40 Tourer has plenty of gadgets to explore including a new traction control system, DAB radio and optional Xenon directional headlights.

The interior of the Hyundai certainly defines comfort and practicality. The driver’s seat gives you a good, high driving position making even the longer journeys seem comfortable. The large cabin space has enough room to easily accommodate four tall adults plus a third passenger in the middle seat.

You’ll be spoilt for storage with lots of convenient compartments including generously sized glovebox, door bins and centre console units. The boot space in the i40 is a very practical 553 litres; ergonomically designed levers are provided to fold the rear seats with additional under-floor storage areas.

  • Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group is an Appointed Representative of Automotive Compliance Ltd who is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 497010). Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.
