On the 24th April 2016, over 1500 people will be taking part in the fantastic Weston Hospice Colour Run!
This year, Howards are proud to be the main sponsors at the event and we will be in charge of the red paint station. There will be a total of 5 paint stations, with ours being at the beginning of race, meaning that we are the lucky ones who get to throw paint at the runners first!
The run is all about having fun and bursting into colour whilst contributing to an excellent cause, raising money for the local hospice. Weston Hospicecare provide excellent specialist care to patients, be that at home or in the hospice, and ensure that both patients and families are cared for and reassured throughout difficult and emotional experiences.
Before the start of the event runners will be warming up with some music with a paint party. Starting at the Tropicana, they will be running towards Uphill and back around towards the Grand Pier, then looping back to the starting location.
At Howards, our employees love to get involved with local activities, contribute to excellent causes and help out with the local community, as we are a company built with family values at heart. We are proud to be sponsoring this event in aid of the Weston Hospice Colour Run, and hope that you will join us in raising money for this excellent charity!

Howards Team Join the Weston Hospicecare Colour Run
On Sunday, the 19th of April, the team at Howards joined the Weston Colour Run to show their support to a worthwhile cause. Initially founded by the community back in 1989, Weston Hospicecare provides care and support to residents in the areas surrounding Weston-super-Mare and North Somerset who are living with life-limiting illnesses.
This year 1,600 participants took on the 5km route to Uphill beach, consisting of a number of fun paint stations scattered along the course, which participants could walk or run. The team from Howards manned their own station and were tasked with showering participants with powdered blue paint as they made their way to the finish line.
Event Fundraiser Claire Dibben said, “We’re so pleased with how the day went. These events are so important to Weston Hospicecare – not only does it bring our loyal supporters together for a huge party but the amount of fundraising and sponsorship that takes place is astonishing.”
“The price of ticket entry only covers event costs and so it’s really important to us that everybody gets their friends and family to sponsor their awesome efforts in the run. We’re so proud of everybody who takes part and we can’t wait to see you all again next year!”
We’re always on the lookout for opportunities to get involved in charity initiatives in the areas surrounding our retailers and enjoyed joining forces with hospice on this colourful occasion.
Louise Devine, Howards Group PR and Marketing Manager commented, “Weston Hospicecare plays an important part in our local community and we felt it was important to take the time to be an active part of this year’s colour run to help raise funds for the charity.”
