    Citroen propose Premium range-topper DS8 for 2018

A new flagship DS automobile is allegedly being planned and is dubbed to replace the C6 model which is now out of production.

A new flagship DS automobile is allegedly being planned and is dubbed to replace the C6 model which is now out of production.  The all new DS8 is supposedly being readied for launch in 2018 where, according to New Europe Today, it will be only be available in China until it is released into Europe at a later date, with the US having to wait until 2020 for their glimpse of this new model.

The DS8 is set to be a mid-sized sedan with inspiration and design cues taken from the Divine Concept Car and the original 1955 DS. The Citroen DS division are doing well with the DS3 currently outselling the C3, its Citroen counterpart. Despite this, reports show that sales are slowing by up to 25% as the range of products changes and the need for new, exciting models is blatant to reignite the interest from customers.

DS is now a separate unit from Citroen and its efforts to be separated from its French partner are apparent with DS dropping the distinguished double chevron trademark of Citroen in place of its own DS logo. Despite this, there will be similarities between the classic Citroens and the DS range, as the DS8 is likely to be based on the EMP2 platform, the same platform used in the Peugeot 308 and Citroen C4 Picasso, but with a more refined suspension system to make the ride a little bit smoother.

The DS8 will be competing with the likes of the BMW 5 series and the Audi A6 which will certainly be a tough market to crack for this new range. However, it seems the manufacturers are confident that their focus on sophistication and establishing themselves as a ‘Premium’ brand will help the DS find its place on the market, including granite features inside the cabin for an extra touch of class.

The DS8 will be powered by turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel powertrains and a hybrid version will also be available. Although details of the cars performance are currently unknown, it seems the DS brand is certain on where they want to go, and Premium luxury looks to be the way!

Automotive Compliance Ltd’s permissions as a Principal Firm allow Howards Garages (Weston) Ltd T/A Howards motor Group to act as a credit broker, not a lender, for the introduction to a limited number of lenders, and to act as an agent on behalf of the insurer for insurance distribution activities only.

We are a credit broker and not a lender. We can introduce you to a lender on our panel, which includes lenders of vehicle manufacturers. We have commercial arrangements with lenders and credit brokers which are likely to influence who we introduce you to. We are not an independent financial adviser and don’t give you any advice or recommendations. It is your choice whether you enter into any finance agreement.

Our approach is to introduce you first to the manufacturer lender linked to the franchise offering you the vehicle. They will usually offer the best available package for you, taking into account both interest rates and other contributions (but we do not guarantee they do). If they are unable to offer finance, we then seek to introduce you to someone else on our panel. We will usually receive a commission for your introduction. This will be either a fixed fee, or a fixed percentage of the amount that you borrow. This may be linked to the vehicle model you choose.

Lenders of vehicle manufacturers may also provide preferential rates to us for the funding of our vehicle stock and also provide financial support for our training and marketing. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement. Before we propose you to a potential lender, we will tell you of the likely amount of commission we will receive and seek your consent to receiving this commission. The exact amount of commission will be confirmed before you sign your finance agreement.

All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18s or over. Guarantees may be required.
