The Hyundai NEXO is driving to a cleaner future. It is an SUV that belongs to a future that exists in harmony with the environment. It’s a car that does not weigh heavy on drivers’ consciences, but also hold the conveniences and control that we all desire as drivers. Powered by Hydrogen fuel cell system, it purifies the air it releases meaning it is kind to our homes and cities. The technology and efficient design enhance the bespoke feel to NEXO, really making it the best in its class.

Including Hyundai’s signature cascading grille, it has been reimagined to seamlessly flow with the light from and twin headlight design. Its wide sunroof will go much appreciated by a passenger allowing natural light into the car. From the side, the long rear spoiler with an integrated rear wiper gives the illusion of floating roof design. The spoiler along with the specially designed air duct in the D-pillar helps to improve airflow. Another sleek design element includes the retractable door handles to improve aerodynamic efficiency – they retract automatically when travelling at speeds of more than 2mph. This charismatic model boasts an impeccable exterior. It is guaranteed to turn head wherever you may go.

NEXO Interior


The entirety of this car has been well considered throughout the design process. It combines state of the art technology with environmentally friendly design to make up a thoughtful, spacious interior. Biomaterials have been used, such as vegan Leather for the heated and ventilated Seats, bamboo-based bio headliners and door trims. This is the most extensive use of UL certified bio-materials on any vehicle to date.

The technology is not to be reckoned with either. The reimagined console centre holds the shift by wire buttons meaning that everything you need is right at your fingertips. The steering wheel is also top of its class, making sure that it has everything you need to stay in control and connected. The heated steering wheel features ergonomically positioned buttons so you can drive safely whilst operating car system. You can even customise the rate at which the battery is recharged when decelerating – all through the steering wheel! You can stay connected through the crystal clear 12.3” LCD displays, for navigation, entertainment and driving information. It also has a split-screen feature so you can select up to three screens at the same time. With Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ functionality, you can connect a compatible smartphone and control your music through premium speakers, phone and app functions too.

The Supervision Instrument Cluster holds all of the digital information that you could need for your journey. From range and trip information, a power gauge, the blind spot view monitor and the Advanced Driver Assistance System, the cluster helps your drive to be as smooth as can be.

Hydrogen Power

The NEXO’s fuel cell system combines oxygen and hydrogen to create a flow of electrons that powers the electric drive motor and charges the 1.56kWh high voltage battery. It delivers best-in-class performance while producing no particulates or tailpipe emissions, other than purified air and droplets of clean water. This second-generation fuel cell produced by Hyundai has the world’s highest system efficiency, consuming as little as 1kg of hydrogen per 100km. This cutting edge technology has even more impressive features. In just five minutes  NEXO can fill up 414 miles. That’s London to Sheffield and back again. Not only it has incredible technology that allows brilliant power, its max speeds are 111mph and can reach 0-62mph in 9.54 seconds, showing that not only it has the power but also the speed for full driving pleasure.

Even though it can travel distances, its hydrogen power is not to be forgotten. One hour of driving equates to 25.9kg of purified air, which is clean air for 42 people for an hour. This car is just the beginning of the future of driving.

NEXO Safety

As an SUV, it is imperative that the NEXO has the best possible safety features to give the driver peace of mind. It is leading the way forward with the highest level of any Advanced Driver Assistance Systems of any mass brands. It has advanced safety features embedded, including the Hyundai SmartSense system. This cutting edge driving assistance system allows you to feel completely safe on the roads. This includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Warning Assistant, Remote Smart Park Assist and Driver Attention Alert which continuously monitors and analyses driving patterns.

The Nexo has also been awarded a 5* Euro NCAP rating. As the Nexo stores Hydrogen in three tanks for extra security in the event if a collision and a high strength tank protection structure is designed to absorb high energy impacts without transferring impact loads through to the hydrogen tank.
