    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This is a high-profile role within the Howards Motor Group Head Office finance team is based at our Peugeot/Fiat retailer in Weston super Mare.  This opportunity will suit an ambitious and proactive individual who can consistently deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Howards is a multi-site automotive retailer group, operating a wide portfolio of manufacturer brands at locations in WSM, Taunton, Yeovil and Dorchester.

    You will support the accounts team with the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and Group accounts consolidation, within the published timetable. Annually, you will be involved in the preparation of budgets and year end accounts and schedules. The role is strongly focused on business improvement and the desire to increase efficiency of accounts processes to support overall productivity.

    Key Skills:

    • Preferred Part or Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA.
    • At least 5 years of experience in working in an accounting environment with some of that time working in a similar level role.
    • Strong communicator across various platforms and ability to align people’s activities to a common goal.
    • Advanced Excel is a necessity for this role e.g. Pivot Tables, complex forumulas and data analytic techniques.
    • Deadline driven and able to work under pressure.
    • Good understanding of industry KPIs and able to interpret management accounts to identify areas of improvement.
    • Able to follow specific process/instructions and able to work independently to deliver delegated projects.
    • Experience of automotive software Keyloop ‘Drive’ (formerly CDK) or Kerridge Rev 8 is advantageous, but not essential.
    • Comfortable in travelling and facilitating meetings with other key employees across all Howards locations, including Finance Team members and other key Managers.
