    This is a high-profile role within the Howards Head Office finance team and will suit an ambitious and proactive individual who can consistently deliver timely and accurate financial reporting to a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Howards is a multi-site, multi-franchise dealer group operating a wide portfolio of manufacturer brands at locations in WSM, Taunton, Yeovil and Dorchester.

    It will be your aim to prepare monthly management accounts, annual year end trial balances and annual business plans for all designated branches, within the published timetable. You will be expected to establish procedures and maintain staffing levels that ensure that accounting control is maintained, working capital is kept to a minimum and the Group’s benchmarks are achieved.

    You will be expected to remain professional, calm and positive at all times. You will lead by example and be willing to work flexibly whenever the need arises.  Excellent communication skills are needed to develop and maintain professional working relationships with the Accounts Team and customers, colleagues and external representatives.    You will lead and motivate the Accounts and Sales Administration Team; coaching and developing key staff. 

    Key Skills:

    • Strong communicator across various platforms and ability to align people’s activities to a common goal.
    • Advanced Excel is a necessity for this role e.g. Pivot Tables, VBA, Power Query, Data Analytic techniques. Working knowledge of Power BI and data consolidation processing techniques would also be advantageous.
    • Deadline driven and able to work under pressure.
    • Good understanding of industry KPI’s and able to interpret management accounts to identify areas of improvement.
    • Able to follow specific process/instructions and able to work independently to deliver delegated projects.
    • Experience of Keyloop ‘Drive’ (formerly CDK) or Kerridge Rev 8.
    • Comfortable in travelling and facilitating meetings with other key employees across all Howards locations.
    • ACCA or CIMA qualified preferable.
